Karen has been a part of the UC community for many years and has served on staff in a number of different roles since 2002. It was through these different roles, specifically covering a maternity leave for the Associate Pastor in 2015, that she felt called to pursue a degree in Theology. Since that time she has served both as the Executive Pastor, and currently as the Transitional and English Language Pastor.
One of Karen's passions is to help create spaces and events that help people build deeper relationships within the UC community, relationships that build deeper friendships, a greater understanding of what it means to be the body of Christ, and that encourage one another to continue to seek and know Christ more deeply.
Karen is married to Nathan and together they have two teenage boys. As a family, they love to spend time outdoors doing all different kinds of activites from skiing, to fishing, hiking, backcountry camping, and cattle wrangling.
